Although Surya Namaskar A and B are very effective tools for awakening and strengthening the body at the start of your vinyasa yoga practice, it can be very efficient, creative and fun to create your own namaskars. Especially when working towards a certain peak asana, it can be both helpful and fun to create a dynamic flow that prepares the body for the deepening poses that will follow.

During this 25hr teacher intensive we will explore the logic and intelligence behind creating your own namaskars. Daphne will be build up this weekend in a structured way, explaining the logic of vinyasa krama sequencing and how this logic can be extended to creating your own namaskars. She will be sharing from her own experience of creating namaskars, in a fun and interactive way. 

On day 1 you will be moving through ‘solar’ creative namaskars for different pathways of flow: hipopening poses, backbends and inversions. On day 2 you will experience how ‘lunar’ namaskars affect the flow of a gentle vinyasa sequence. And on day 3 we will move into more complex namaskars, suitable for circular or mandala sequences. We will be analyzing all namaskars as a foundation for creating our own, while keeping the level of our students in mind.

We will be creating and practicing together so at the end of the weekend you will have plenty of inspiration to spice up your vinyasa classes in a safe, smart and fun way.

• Back ground of sequencing: principles, building blocks & the art of sequencing

• Thorough analysis of kramas and key actions of each namaskar, related to pathway of flow
